My friend  Ximena wanted to share her love to sailing and the beauty of Biscayne Bay with her Mother who was here in a visit from Columbia. Also her good friend Christan who was here from Denmark  and  theother cousins who live in Miami but have not experienced the pleasures of sailing on Biscayne Bay. It was indeed a beautiful day , gentle breeze, 10- 15 knots. raised the big jib and the mizzen and just headed south.
Here is what they wrote in the log:

"Dear Captain Asaad, thank you for a very pleasant afternoon and the very interesting

September 12th, 201, Saud & Family

Saud and his lovely family were here in our Magic City, Miami to get his daughter Raneem setteled in her new life as a freshman at the University of Miami. They wanted to have a special activity in Miami for the whole family. His wife Jihan was able to find me on line. . It was a quiet day on Biscayne bay. Ned was on board. We raised the main, mizzen and the big jib. They all enjoyed the peace that comes with sailing RA on Biscayne bay when the wind is very gentle. Lolo wante to take the helm and she did very well. At the end of the day, Lolo wanted to go fast, so we did run the engine in the channel .. Here is what they wrote in the log:
"What a great time , me and my wife Jihan and my two daughters Lolo and Raneem had on September 12 with great Captain Asaad who treated us as part of his family. Looking forward to see him Again, Saud Albaijan"

Sunday September 8th, 2013, Snipes Regatta

Yesterday we came to get he regatta going, however there was no wind. Ron tried all day, but the wind Gods did not cooperate.
Today we had much better luck and the races went without a glitch, thanks to Susan for her ability to get the wind to cooperate.
Race committee members executing the race were :
Elizabeth Balbin, Susan Walcutt, Dottie Rostorfer, Saundrine Quenee, Maria Caldwell and Marlene Erven., Aboard also was Fabian Lescot who is my class mate in  Spanish  and came to observe, but they put him to work giving horn signals., Here is what they wrote in the log:

" Another two days on beautiful RA as our CGSC Signal Boat, Susan"

"Beautiful boat. Hospitable  charming skipper. W

September 3rd, 2013, Donna Sherer's Aniversary

Donna wanted to surprise her husband ken by taking him sailing on Biscayne bay. She knew that Ken loves to sail. She tried to keep it as a surprise . It was all kept secret until the last minute when we needed to change the time. Originally  we were to go for a sunset sail, then we decided to go for a morning trip to avoid the afternoon storms. It was very quiet. we raised all the sailes and were able to catch some breeze, but then the wind died completly. Thanks to Ned he suggested going sight seeing on the shores of Biscayne bay and Biscayne Bay Yacht club under power. the Dolphins also showed up to break the monotony of Motoring. You can almost count on dolphins playing when the wind dies. I call it the consolation prize. You dont get to sail , but you get to watch the Dolphins. Here is what Ken and Donna wrote in the log:

"Thank you so much for a great anniversary cruise. It is nice to spend the day with such nice people. Rgrads
s, Ken & Donna"

September 2nd, 2013, Elisa & Friends

It was a spur of the moment, Elisa was here from San francisco, and met her friends who were here from Spain, they all  decided to go for a sunset sail on Biscayne Bay. I was on my way to a Vegan pot luck with Suzy and Albina. A change in plans was made and we all went sailing on the Magical Biscayne bay. the sunset was beautiful and the Magic City lights were amazing. Every body had a great time.
Here is what they wrote in the log:

" What a beautiful view of Miami. A lovely boat, helppful crew and peaceful ride into the bay. Thank you for a memorable experience!! Elisa  Maria"
