Gary Senk & Chris Bayer

Dr Gary Senk wanted to treat his new neighbors for a special sail on Miami's Biscayne bay. It was a full moon and was the largest Moon you will see in many years. The weather was just great. we had all the sails up. Needless to say it was indeed a spectacular evening.
Here i s what Chris wrote in the log:
"What a wonderful journey ! Turtles, beautiful sunset and full moon. Thoroughly enjoyed the event. Thanks Captain A, Chris & Carol Bayer, Miami, FL

Captain Asaad's Log:

On March 19, 2011 we set sail with hopes to observe the sunset and full moon of the fall equinox. We were rewarded with ideal weather which gave us a faultless down to the horizon sunset. Soon after that we were able to observe a spectacular red-orange moon rise from the east. We were informed that this will be the brightest moon for the next 18 years which made this night unique. Thank you Capt. Chuck it was terrific to have you onboard your navigational experience got us through the channel in the dark so we could stay out and enjoy this amazing evening.

"Special thanks to Captain Asaad and Shipmate Chuck for our wonderful, memorable, and fabulous full moon sail aboard the 45' Ketch The Ra on Saturday, March 19!   Not only did we see the moon at it's fullest in eighteen (18)years, but we also saw a most beautiful sunset with cotton candy skies following it just prior to the moon's rising.  Both were glorious while sailing smoothly over the calm, clear waters of Biscayne Bay!

We can't wait to set sail again to not only enjoy the adventure of sailing and the beauty of the Bay setting, but also the great company of the Captain and our gracious fellow shipmates.  Thanks, again, to all!
Chris and Carole Bayer"
