July 18th 2010, Lucy's B day, with Marcello, Dee & Tina

I met Dee at Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, she was the connection to arrange for a birthday party for Lucy and her friends. on board were Lucy, Dee, Tina, Laura,Sylvania and Marcel, Ned of the leeddepot came aboard as a crew. The weatherman was predicting a stormy day. Marcello text-ed me in the morning wondering if it is OK to go sailing. He was concerned about the group getting sea sick. I assured him that nobody gets sea sick on my boat on the bay. I did however tell him that you may get wet at which time you can go below deck. . We actually had a fantastic day on the great Miami's Biscayne bay. The wind was consistent at 20 - 25 knots. We had only the Mizzen and the Jib up, and were making Hull speed. Except for the brief squall which actually was a refreshing experience, all had a great time.
Here is what Tina and Lucy wrote in the ship's log:

"Thank you for a perfect birthday celebration on the sea! You really know your way around the bay and the weather. It was a Celist experience! We will definitely come back, Thank you, Tina"

"It was a surprise B-day Party for me and I loved it, would do it again !!, Lucy"

July 10th, 2010, Miami beach Chamber

The purpose of this cruise was to familiarize the Staff and management of Miami Beach Chamber of commerce with sailing on Miami's Biscayne bay. The luck was on our side and we had indeed a chamber of commerce weather. We could not have ordered better weather for sailing, Wind from the east at 10 - 15 knots. We raised the main, Mizzen and the forward jib. RA loved it and was going hull speed much of the time. On board were Chantal Gloor, Kathleen Harris Hicks, Valerie Rasken and the CEO of the Chamber the great Ceci Velasco.
Here is what they wrote in the ship's Log:

"Dear Captain Asaad, Thank you for the wonderful sailing trip, It was a great way to kickoff my birthday celebration. I look forward to coming back on the RA, merci!!, P.S thank you for all your help Marti, Your hummus was delicious Chantal Gloor."
"Captain Asaad and Marty, Thank you for a glorious day out on the bay. Your expertise was in evidence today as we enjoyed a peaceful worry free afternoon out on the water. We look forward to promoting your business so that many more people , and Chamber members especially can enjoy the same, Thank you, Kathleen and Valerie"
" Captain & Martin, What a perfect Chamber day! Thank you so much for the excursion on the best place on earth, a boat on the water! It was delightful, Ceci Velasco"

July 4th, 2010, James, Veronica & friends

It was a gray day to start with but that did not dampen the enthusiadsm of the young funloving group who caame literally from all over to watch the celebration of America' birthday in Miami on our great Biscayne bay. Indeed nether RA or the weather or the firworks disappointed them. On board we had a set of 3 love birds, James and veronica in the courting stage, Veronica was also celebrating her Birthday, Loren and Matias, who are engaged to be married soon and Amy and Kyle who came from California as part of their Honey Moon.
We sailed all day , had a little bit of cloud cover a little bit of rain and enough wind to have a great sail. th fire works were spectacular, we watched from the middle of the bay. We were able to see yhe diplays from Key Biscayn, Miami Beach , Downtown Miami, Coral Gable, Coconut Grove and Mercy Hospital . they all had a great time. here is what James wrote in the ship's log:
"July 4th 2010, By James Langfitt,: Captain Asaad, Thank you so much for a wonderful day at sea. You and Martin treated us like kings and queens. There is nothing like feeling the wind taking us to our destination. We couldn't have picked a better boat or Captain. Thanks, Jim Langfitt"

July 3rd 2010, Wendy Unger

Well it was one of these days where the weather was on again and off again. Wendy wanted to go sailing and she came with her husband and some good beer and food. we did leave the dock and motored almost to the end of the channel, but it started raining, so we decided to head back. The old saying a bad day on the water is better than a good day at the office.
Hers is what Wendy wrote in the log
"Wendy Unger & Seth Schapira came to sail, weather defeated us . Had a slight disappointment but great time, Thanks, we will be back"
